Maria Kessell, MD
In our first Provider Spotlight article, we would like to recognize Dr. Maria Kessell, a Family Practice physician in our Medical Clinic. Dr. Kessell received her medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine and became a member of the RGH Medical Staff in September of 2001.
Dr. Kessell has recently been awarded the degree of Fellow by the American Academy of Family Practice (AAFP). The Degree of Fellow recognizes AAFP members who have distinguished themselves among their colleagues, as well as in their communities, by their service to Family Medicine, by their advancement of health care to the American people, and by their professional development through medical education and research.
Dr. Kessell and her husband Dave enjoy living on a farm. When she is not working, she enjoys riding her horses or hiking with her dogs. She is very family oriented and although she does not have children of her own, her nieces and nephews keep her busy.
